Specialist life insurance advice. The safety net under everything you’ve built.

Life insurance advice from a real specialist, not an online form, a call centre or an algorithm.

One adviser learns your situation, compares a panel of major Australian insurers, and stays on it through underwriting and every claim. When something goes wrong, you call a person who already knows your story, not a queue that asks for your policy number.

No-obligation. We are usually paid by commission from the insurer, already built into the premium. If a fee applies, we tell you up front.

What clients say

5.015 Google reviews

Real clients on what it was like to work with us.

Absolutely fantastic service that I cannot recommend highly enough. Amazing communication throughout the process of saving me thousands in premiums while significantly increasing cover for my whole family. All for nil out of pocket fee. It seems almost too good to be true. But it is very much true and one of the very best services I've ever used. You won't be disappointed. Finding a trustworthy insurance provider was important to me, and Safety Nest did not disappoint. They were clear, honest, and took the time to understand what I was looking for. I appreciated that they didn't try to upsell me, but rather focused on what would actually benefit my family. Highly recommended!

The honest comparison

Why use a specialist life insurance adviser?

There are three ways Australians get life insurance: buying direct online, the default cover inside super, or through a specialist adviser. Keep scrolling to see how they compare, question by question.

The advice you get

Going direct

General advice only, issued without a check that the cover suits your circumstances.

Cover in super

No personal advice. A default amount that may not reflect your income, debts or dependants.

With Safety Nest

Personal advice built around your health, income and family.

Who compares the market

Going direct

Not compared for you; you pick the insurer and amounts yourself.

Cover in super

Not compared; one group policy chosen by the fund.

With Safety Nest

We compare a panel of major Australian insurers for you.

Getting accepted

Going direct

You apply and take whatever terms come back.

Cover in super

Automatic, but on limited group terms.

With Safety Nest

We can test insurers quietly first, before you commit.

If you ever claim

Going direct

You deal with the insurer on your own.

Cover in super

You go through the fund, which can be slower and harder.

With Safety Nest

We complete the forms and advocate for you until it is paid.

As life changes

Going direct

Typically not reviewed as your circumstances change.

Cover in super

Typically not reviewed as your circumstances change.

With Safety Nest

Reviewed each year as your life changes.

What it costs you

Going direct

The premium, sometimes plus a fee.

Cover in super

Premiums come out of your super balance, shrinking retirement savings.

With Safety Nest

Commission inside the premium, any fee agreed up front.

General information only. It compares typical features and does not take your personal circumstances into account. Individual situations vary, and default cover in super suits some people. A review can confirm what is right for you.

How we get paid

No catch, no separate advice fee

This is the question we are asked most, so we answer it plainly. We are paid a commission by the insurer, and it is already inside the premium you would pay anyway. Your advice, application help, claims support and yearly reviews are all part of it, and covered by that commission.

Commission is capped and regulated, so we are generally not paid more for recommending one insurer over another. In the rare case a fee applies, we tell you up front and set it out in writing before you commit. No surprises.

What you pay

The commission is already inside your premium

Paid by the insurer, included in the price. Your advice, application help, claims support and reviews are part of it.

Still have questions?

Contact us
What types of personal insurance does Safety Nest offer?
Safety Nest specialises in personal risk insurance, including life insurance, trauma insurance, total and permanent disability (TPD), income protection, child cover, buy/sell and key man insurance. Each policy is tailored to meet your unique needs and financial circumstances.
How can I book a consultation with an adviser?
You can easily book a consultation by clicking the “Get Started” button on our website. Once you provide your details, our team will contact you to schedule a time that suits you, including after-hours and weekends.
How is the initial consultation paid for?
The consultation is no-obligation. We are paid by commission from the insurer if and when you take out a policy through us, so the consultation is not billed to you as a separate fee. We use this time to understand your financial situation and insurance needs before providing tailored recommendations.
What if I already have insurance?
If you have an existing policy, we can review it to ensure it still meets your current needs. Over time, coverage can become outdated or may no longer provide the level of protection required. We offer a no-obligation review to help you make sure your insurance is keeping up with your situation.
How long does a consultation typically take?
Our initial consultations usually take about 30 minutes depending on your needs. During this time, we’ll go over your financial situation, future goals.
How long does it take to set up insurance coverage?
The process typically takes around 10-14 business days from the initial consultation to policy activation, depending on how quickly the insurer completes underwriting. However, the timeline may vary based on the complexity of your situation.
How much does risk insurance cost?
The cost of risk insurance is influenced by various factors such as your age, health, lifestyle, and the coverage amount you need. Other considerations, like smoking, pre-existing medical conditions, and the specific type of policy, can also impact your premiums. To get an accurate estimate tailored to your needs, click the Start Now button for a personalised quote.
How much does Safety Nest charge?
We are paid by commission from the insurer if and when you take out a policy through us, not by a separate fee for our advice. That commission is already built into the premium rather than added on top, so going through us does not cost you more than going direct. In some situations we may provide specialised advice for a separate fee, but any potential cost is always disclosed in advance. Please thoroughly read the Financial Services Guide for more information about the commissions and rebates payable to us.
